Collaborative Study Investigation Grants
Teacher Team Professional Development Grants for Middle and High School Science and Math
Collaborative Study Investigation (CSI) proposals are open to middle
school, high school and college teams. CSI provides an opportunity for
teachers to work with colleagues in public schools and universities to
enhance the teaching and learning of mathematics and/or science by
investigating issues of local interest. Successful applicants will begin
their CSI project during the summer at SEOCEMS annual CSI conference.
- - CSI grants are for $10,000 and require a two-year team commitment.
- - CSI Team projects can either be a two-year action research project or a two-year Lesson Study project.
- - Teams receive consultant and financial support to conduct their activities.
CSI teams consist of 4-6 individuals who share an interest in
investigating a particular issue over a two-year period. Teams include
at least one public school teacher and one university faculty.
Individual team members deepen and broaden their knowledge about the
teaching and learning of science or mathematics, enhance their
professional development, and provide valuable information to their
school districts or departments about an important local issue.
